Jack’s Restaurant & Bar Continues to Thrive

For one Corsham based restaurant 2009 has been one to remember for all the right reasons, as it continues to thrive despite the recession.

Jack’s Restaurant & Bar, located within the Mansion House on the Hartham Park estate, celebrates its third anniversary in January. Since the doors were officially opened in 2006 Jack’s has made a name for itself as one of the top eateries in the region.  Although originally set up to cater for the business centre at Hartham Park, its popularity has grown among the local community, businesses and food lovers from across the county and beyond. .

Over the last quarter, customers have been asked to rate both food and service at Jack’s, and the restaurant has scored consistently high results, with guests awarding it 9.4 points out of 10 on average. 100 per cent of guests asked also indicated that they would return to Jack’s again in the future.

Restaurant Manager David Woodward puts the success of Jack’s Restaurant & Bar down to a combination of good service, a friendly welcome and high quality food.

“We’re all very proud of what Jack’s has accomplished over the last few years”, he said. “Our ethos has always been to keep it simple. We always aim to provide high standards and value for money, and I think that’s why people return to us time and time again.”

“We have quite a diverse range of clientele, from businesses hosting lunches and parties, to couples enjoying quiet meals, and family get-togethers. We provide the same quality of food and service to all of our guests, whether they’re joining us for a bacon sandwich at breakfast or having a three course meal.”

2009 saw Jamie Hirst join the team at Jack’s as Head Chef following a successful career in some of the UK’s top eating establishments. He has relished the opportunity to work at a young, up and coming restaurant.

In the summer he introduced picnic hampers to the menu, allowing guests to enjoy the stunning grounds of Hartham Park whilst enjoying a delicious picnic, without any of the hassle. He has also introduced his own range of home-made jams, chutneys, ketchup and other condiments to the restaurant, giving guests something truly unique when they visit. This will continue in 2010.

“It’s a superb place to work with a great team of local staff,” he said. “Our aim is for our guests to have a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish, so we have to get everything right including the welcome, the atmosphere, the service and of course the food.”

Jack’s regularly updated menu includes seasonal locally sourced vegetables, fresh fish, and game from the Hartham Park estate, among other favourites. It has also hosted a range of successful specialist cuisine nights throughout 2009 and aims to bring an even more diverse range of food to the restaurant in 2010.
